I Chose
Dawn has come upon the shallowed cove,
Where waves wander thro' the path I chose,
Walking, without aim, without claim
To any destination,
That when I've reached
Perhaps the perfect beach,
Shade and light, a pleasant site,
I'd find my misplaced hopes.
She chose, she chose,
So it was at the close
Of the day, I was alone,
And where wander'd I, from sigh to sigh,
Amidst the sea's soothing foam,
Perhaps at last, it was the splash
That I, from slumber, had awoke,
A desire to seek my misplaced hopes.
